HHBooking

HHBooking came to us with only an idea. They wanted a web platform for friends and family to meet online and coordinate bookings of practically any type of shared accommodation including a holiday house, caravan, cabin, etc.

The Challenge

The client has no technical background or experience in software development. And requirements are quite imprecise.

The Solution

The very first step was requirements assessment with the client in a series of interviews. We aimed to understand as precisely as possible what this platform is about, what the use cases are and the main features it will have. Then, we put those ideas together in UI/UX design and prototypes so that he could validate we get it right and give us some feedback; we iterated several times over those prototypes until we reached the design and specs the client was looking for, then we moved forward to the development process.

We communicated ideas as simple as possible in a non-technical fashion so that he could quickly follow. Putting designs together in the early stages of the project was crucial for validating ideas rapidly, iterate over them and pivot if needed, thus showing value to the client quickly. Then, we stuck to Scrum agile methodology and continuous integration and delivery, so that the client received updates live on the staging website on a weekly basis.

Outcome

Iterative product development allowed the client to provide continuous feedback, and this enabled us to make adjustments and improvements throughout the development process. He watched the product evolve as it was being developed and got exactly was he was looking for.
Success.
